Metta World Peace sent the right message to Oklahoma City! Stop playing dirty, or you’ll get hurt.

Russell Westbrook is the dirtiest player on Oklahoma along with Perkins. If you watch him play, when he goes up for a layup, he has his knee out in front him. His message; gets hurt or get out of the way. They set illegal screens away from the ball; when refs aren’t paying attention.

Metta World Peace is being punished unfairly. James Harden got into Metta World Peace’s path. He didn’t like Metta’s dunk, and Harden showed it by getting in Metta World Peace way. Not the first time, Oklahoma gets in other players space, in an attempt to irritate the opposing teams. This time they did it to the wrong guy.

Oklahoma City, Russell Westbrook, and Perkins play dirty. Teams will step up and knock them down, Oklahoma’s player will be hurt, and it’s their own fault.

Its was sad see James Harden get elbow, when Russell Westbrook is their dirtiest player.

SHIFT IN POWER!

An unprecedented free agency this off-season in the NBA has produced a sudden shift in power from the wild wild! Western Conference to the new look Eastern Conference. The past couple of years the Eastern Conference simply did not measure up to the level of talent that the Western Conference boded, speaking in terms of overall talent. Not focusing just on the top three teams, but also the other squads below. When taking a look at the Eastern Conference rankings from last year and the year before, the East was pretty much dominated by three powerhouses. The Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Orlando Magic. You can maybe throw in the Atlanta Hawks. But beyond those top three or four teams, there was a sudden drop in talent.

You had pretty much average teams. As a result the Cavs, Celtics, and Magic were able to dominate the conference and easily rack up 50 plus wins. The Western Conference, however, was far more competitive and far more talented overall. The Lakers, Mavericks, Suns, Nuggets, Jazz, Blazers, Spurs, and Thunder all had 50 wins or more. It was definitely harder to win in the West than in the East.

But with the crazy off-season that just took place, the power has shifted over to the Eastern Conference. The Magic, Celtics, Heat, Hawks, Bulls, and the Bucks are now all quality teams that are certainly capable of going deep into the playoffs and even winning it all. It should be a fun season in the NBA.

Over the last 2 seasons the Los Angeles Dodgers have had the most success in the NL West, which has been a pretty weak division one can say. There was no team to really contend against the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2008 and 2009. As a result, the Dodgers were able to clinch the number one spot in both consecutive years. But things have changed this year, considerably. At this moment the NL West stands: 1.) San Diego Padres, 2.) San Francisco Giants, 3.) Los Angeles Dodgers, 4.) Colorado Rockies, 5.) Arizona Diamondbacks. Compared to last year there has been a dramatic change. The Padres, who were second to last in the division in 2009, have jolted to first place and have maintained the number one spot for quite some time. The main reason behind the Padres’ success this year is due to the horses they have in the starting rotation and also due to a strong bullpen. The starting rotation consists of young pitchers with great arms like Clayton Richard, Matt Latos, Kevin Correia, and veteran John Garland. The Padres’ dominating pitching is the sole reason why they are having such profound success this year. It is surely not because of their offense. The Padres rank 19th in runs, 26th in hits, and 21st in home runs. Great pitching combined with a shutdown bullpen has allowed San Diego to rack up so many wins thus far.

The same can be said for the San Francisco Giants. The Giants are not really an explosive offensive team that produce a lot of runs, hits, and so on. But, like San Diego, the Giants have thrived off their pitching to be in second place in the NL West. When you throw out their Tim Lincecum, Matt Cain, Jonathan Sanchez, Barry Zito, and even Madison Bumgarner the Giants always have a solid chance of winning any given day. The Dodgers, who have won the NL West the past two seasons, have some issues this year that have led to their present downfall.

Although not quite dominant as that of the Padres and Giants, the starting rotation of the Dodgers has been pretty solid throughout the season so far. The pitchers do a good job of not giving up many runs and they certainly put the team in position to win night in and night out. The problem, however, is a pretty meek offense and an inconsistent bullpen. The batters have a tough time driving in runs when runners get on base. This trend has been consistent throughout the entire season. One can pin this to various reasons like Manny Ramirez’ absence due to injuries, Matt Kemp’s inability to hit ball this year, and also other injuries here and there. But there are really no excuses. The Dodgers get plenty of runners on base but when it’s time to score them in, no avail. In addition to the challenged offense, the Dodgers also have an inconsistent bullpen. The bullpen thus far has been pretty unreliable. Jonathan Broxton has been unable to shut teams down and close out games for Los Angeles. Broxton, who has or “had” some of the nastiest stuff in baseball, seems to collapse when he is on the mound looking to get a save. It is not only Broxton who has been inconsistent this year for LA, but the bullpen pitchers are also having a tough time getting outs, resulting in many games where they have blown leads.

But, the Dodgers are not quite out of the race in the NL West. If they can get the offense and bullpen up to par with the starting rotation the Dodgers can certainly string together wins. This will, however, require the Padres losing some games though. We will just have to see what happens in the NL West this season!

The most talented players are obviously going to be selected quickly early in the draft but there will still remain hidden gems in the middle to late rounds. These hidden gems are players who we think will have productive years that will really help fantasy owners in bolstering their rosters and beating the competition. And fantasy enthusiasts will not have to use any of their early picks to get these players because they are respectively deep in the player rankings. But their potential to have break out years and productive numbers are something to consider closely. So here is the list:

1.) WR Santana Moss ( WAS): We think Santana Moss will have a productive season for the Redskins with newly acquired QB Donovan McNaab throwing him the football. Santana Moss thrives in a offense where the quarterback throws the football down the field, gaining chunks of yardage and always on the attack to score. And with McNaadb behind center, Moss has a reliable QB who can put him in situations to score and rack up yards. Santana Moss will be available towards the middle to late section of the draft and if he is available during that time, get this guy.

2.) WR Percy Harvin (MIN): Percy put up decent numbers last year considering he was just a rookie out of Florida. He scored 6 touchdowns and caught the ball for 790 yards. But this year we predict Percy Harvin will progress as a player and improve upon his production from last season. It’s his second year now and the game will be a lot more slower. He has gone through the process of being a professional football player in the NFL and knowing most importantly that his talent level measures up to the other athletes in the game. The only question that surrounds Percy Harvin is whether or not Brett Favre will return to Minnesota. We think he will because various sports news outlets indicate he will come back for one more year. So all in all Percy Harvin will have a good year for the Vikings and he is definitely a valuable pick between the middle to late section of the draft.

3.) RB Fred Jackson ( BUF): Fred Jackson had a 4.5 average last year rushing the football and he racked up 1062 yards. But he only scored 2 touchdowns. This year we think Fred Jackson will have a pretty productive season up in Buffalo rushing the ball, continuing the trend from last season. Although the Bills drafted C.J. Spiller, various sources report that Fred Jackson has been getting the most touches in training camp and it appears he will be the starting RB for Buffalo. If that is the case, then we predict Fred Jackson is a valuable pick towards the bottom of the draft. The Bills struggle to throw the ball, which is evident in their passing numbers over the years, so they rely on their running attack year after year to put up numbers. As a result, Fred Jackson will play a crucial part in moving the football and scoring the rock for the Bills this upcoming season. Get him late in the draft if he’s still on the board. You will get bang for your buck.

4.) RB Felix Jones (DAL): Felix Jones is a great running back with explosiveness, agility, and tremendous speed. Now his rookie year he was sidelined by a severe injury which prevented him to play. But last year we saw what this guy can do. He had 116 rushes for 685 yards with a 5.9 rushing average and 3 touchdowns. These are pretty good numbers but imagine what Felix Jones can do if can get more rushes and stay longer on the field. This year we think that will happen. We predict the Dallas Cowboys will implement Jones into their offense far more then they did last year. We think he will get more touches, setting up a chance to have a productive season. If he can just stay healthy throughout the course of the season, Jones is capable of having a 1,000 yard rushing season and scoring around 10 touchdowns. Going into his third year Jones looks ready to have his season so far. He will be available deep in the draft.

Matt Garza threw a no hitter July 26, 2010 against the Detroit Tigers, something we rarely see in baseball but frequently this year. Matt Garza is the fifth pitcher to hold an opposing team to zero hits this year in the big leagues. The other players are Ubaldo Jimenez, Roy Halladay, Dallas Braden, and Edwin Jackson. This list would have included Armando Galaragga if not for Umpire Joyce’s blunder at first base. And the no hitters were all against quality teams, a testament to the domination pitchers have displayed all across baseball. With a load of games still remaining, the no hitter list might have more additions.

- The 49ers are prime to take over the West in the NFC this upcoming 2010 season , barring one uncertainty. Quarterback. The 49ers are solid in nearly every aspect of football including a great defense headed by Patrick Willis and a great running game lead by Frank Gore. Ted Ginn Jr. was also acquired in the off season to go along with Michael Crabtree and Josh Morgan to improve the wide receiver position.

1.) RB Chris Johnson ( TEN): Only the 6th player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a single season. This guy is simply a stud. His speed, agility, and deceptiveness creates havoc for defenses week after week making him arguably the best running back in the NFL. His contract issues with the Titans is nothing to worry about because we believe both sides will reach some sort of compromise, considering the Titans really need Chris Johnson to be successful. From a fantasy perspective, CJ is the clear-cut number one player in all drafts and should be taken so accordingly. With Lendale White officially being the backup running back, CJ will get the same amount of touches he had from last year in the Red Zone. His receiving statistics should also improve as we predict he will be utilized more all over the field.

2.) RB Adrian Peterson ( MIN): His strive to be the best makes this guy special. He is always working hard in the off-season trying to improve from the previous year, which is something to consider closely from a fantasy viewpoint. AP had a spectacular season last year. He did well in the rushing department, scored 18 touchdowns, and also had decent numbers receiving the ball. So it’s exciting to see that he is still trying to improve and get better. Expect big numbers from AP this upcoming season.

3.) Maurice Jones-Drew ( JAC): Look for Maurice Jones-Drew to have another great year. He has been one of the most reliable and proven running backs over the past couple of years in fantasy football. He will definitely carry the offensive load for the Jaguars again seeing that Jacksonville pretty much looks the same offensively, making no improvements at the wide receiver position. Jones-Drew will definitely be the central focus of that team again and should get plenty of touches. And with a history of not being injury prone, Maurice Jones-Drew is a safe pick in the first round.

4.) Ray Rice (BAL): Wow. What a season he had last year. The numbers don’t lie. 1339 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns. And on top of that, 78 receptions for 702 yards. If you want a all-purpose running back, then Ray Rice is your man. Going into his only third year in the NFL, Ray Rice’s potential is limitless. But fantasy wise we believe he is the fourth best running back. With Willis McGahee taking part in the Red Zone touches for the Baltimore Ravens, we believe Ray Rice will have similar numbers in the touchdowns department from last year while still racking up heavy rushing yards. And with newly acquired Anquan Boldin and Donte’ Stallworth, we think Ray Rice’s receiving yards might wane as we predict Flacco will look more down the field rather then to the side. But all in all, Rice is a tremendous fantasy player and should be taken off the board quickly.

5.) RB Frank Gore ( SF): The 49ers look to focus on the running game this season which is why they drafted two offensive linemen in the first round of the NFL draft. This certainly bodes well for Frank Gore in terms of fantasy football. With a stout offensive line and a potentially good passing game, all factors point toward Frank Gore having a career year this upcoming season. He is certainly capable of rushing more than 1120 yards he had last year and with the 49ers geared toward running the heck out of the ball, Frank Gore will surely score more than 10 touchdowns. But Frank Gore has dealt with injuries throughout his entire career in the NFL, a result of his aggressive style of play on the field. But nonetheless, he is a top running back in fantasy football and should be taken out of the player pool quickly.

6.) RB Michael Turner ( ATL): Although Michael Turner played in only 11 games last season due to a injury, he still scored 10 touchdowns and rushed for 871 yards. The fact of the matter is his fantasy production last year was just cut short due to a severe injury. If he would have stayed healthy, his rushing yards would’ve been well above the 1,000 yard mark and his touchdown output would have surely been between 15-20. Now this upcoming season Turner looks ready for a monster year, similar to the one he had in 2008. He plays on a team with tremendous talent all over the field on offense, causing opposing defenses to respect the passing game and back off Turner. This guy is unquestionably a No. 1 RB in fantasy football.

7.) WR Andre Johnson ( HOU): When Andre Johnson remains healthy throughout the course of an entire season, he is arguably the best wide receiver in football. All this guy does is put up huge numbers week after week. With Matt Schaub behind center for the Houston Texans, we know Andre Johnson has a reliable quarterback who can get him the ball. In fact, we saw glimpses of greatness in Matt Schaub’s game towards the second half of the season last year, something we believe will carry over to this upcoming year. Schaub looks to have a career year and Andre Johnson certainly looks to play a huge role in that transpiring.

8.) QB Drew Brees (NO): Although Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl last year, he looks motivated to reach the pinnacle once again. Now that is what fantasy owner’s want to hear. Brees has proven over the past couple of years that he belongs in the upper echelon of quarterbacks in the NFL. And his statistics can certainly contest to that. Whether it’s passing yards, touchdowns, QB rating, or efficiency Drew Brees has dominated all aspects of the quarterback position. For this reason, we consider Brees the number one player in his position and certainly a top 10 player in all fantasy leagues. Snatch this guy off the board when the opportunity arrives.

9.) RB Steven Jackson ( STL): Steven Jackson is a great football player with a tremendous amount of talent. But the reason we have him this low in the draft board is due to some questions surrounding his health and also due to a weak offensive team in the St. Louis Rams. Jackson had back surgery in the off-season and while everyone is participating in training camp, he’s in the recovery process. Various sources report that recovery from the surgery will take about 6-8 weeks from April 15. The healing progression seems to be going smoothly and all factors point toward Steven Jackson starting the season. In regard to fantasy we don’t think the back surgery in the off-season will have a huge impact on his production, as sources report he will be 100 percent. His situation with the St. Louis Rams, however, will impact his fantasy value. Jackson had a great year rushing the ball last year with 1416 yards and a 4.4 rushing average. But he only scored 4 touchdowns. The 4 touchdowns were due to opposing defenses loading up in the box as a result of the weak passing game. But the Rams will rely heavily on the running game again this season which means Jackson will get plenty of touches. He is still a No. 1 RB in fantasy and should be drafted towards the end of the first round.

10.) QB Aaron Rodgers ( GB): Look for Aaron Rodgers to have a career year. That is saying something considering the type of year he had last year. He did well in nearly every statistical category in the quarterback position. This guy is undoubtedly a No. 1 QB in the NFL as well as Fantasy Football. Thy sky is the limit for Aaron Rodgers, which is why we have him at 10. When you get the chance towards the end of the first round do not feel hesitant to draft this guy.
